
"Hey, I'm Savi!" she chirped into the empty house, dropping her bag on the floor. The echo bounced off the walls, sending a shiver down her spine. She'd never been to Sarita's place before, but the silence was eerier than she'd anticipated. "Sarita? You here?" she called out again, her voice quivering a little.
Her friend had insisted she could stay at her place while she was out of town. "It's totally safe," Sarita had said, waving off any concerns. "My dad and brothers are cool. They won't bother you." But as Savi looked around the dimly lit foyer, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The air smelled faintly of old spices and something... musky.
